API Class vs. Schedule Pressure Ratings

12/09/2011 10:09 AM

Can anyone help me with conversion of API Class pipe pressure ratings into Schedule, which I am able to deal with in the UK?

In particular I need to find the pressure ratings for e.g. 3/4" Super Duplex API 10,000 , but unsure if this relates to psi or some other rating.

Thanks

Oh, I think I see what you're saying the xxs or super duplex has no corresponding schedule number...and the 3/4" measurement given would indicate xxh as per ASME B36.10 not ANSI/ASME B31.3 Process Piping. Is that what yer sayin'?

Nope. But the issue isn't worthy of any further discussion here. If I need to know which is which, I'll just ask you.

I had previously tried engineeringtoolbox without success. The link from Mansoor also gives pressure ratings for Schedule pipe but not in relation to API class.

Thanks anyway

Manzoor,

The link opens only one page from my end. I have tried all the individual headings but am missing something (the missing link?). There does not appear to be any page numbers that I can find.

After table for pipe sizes there are paragraphs for pipe diameter & pipe sizes. Please read these two paragraphs.

Yes, I see the script, but I don't see anything that relates API to an equivalent Schedule?
