Manufacturing - Calculate the OEE/Shift

12/13/2011 12:11 AM

Hi friends

Can you pl suggest me.

In machining section say for example in turning center

How to calculate the OEE/shift if the set up change is more than one and cycle time or no of piece/minute is different.

For example..

In shift A.

Part No A cycle time is 75seconds

Part No B cycle time is 70 Seconds

Part No C cycle time is 95second

Part No D cycle time is 100seconds.

Shift length is 8 hours.

Planned break hours:60min

Down time;80min(Including 4 setup change)

Part No A produced:50 pieces

Part No B produeced:75pieces

Part No C produced:56 pieces

Part No D produed:54 pieces.

In Above example can you pl calculate the OEE.

If you give the brief explanation with example which will be helpful for me.

Re: Manufacturing - Calculate the OEE/Shift

Hi,

Your OEE for the shift is 68%.

Your Availability for the shift is 71%

Assuming you've no Quality Losses then your Performance is 96%

Total Shift Time is 480mins (8 Hours)

Product Times:

Product Cycle Time Qty Seconds Minutes

Product A 75 x 50 = 3,750 = 62.50 Minutes

Product B 70 x 75 = 87.50 Minutes

Product C 95 x 56 = 88.67 Minutes

Product D 100 x 54 = 90.00 Minutes

Total Minutes is 328.67

328.67/480 = 68% OEE

140 minutes (planned and unplanned) / 480 = 29% downtime = 71% Availability.

OEE is also

AxPxQ = OEE

71% x P x Q = 68%

PQ = 68/71

Hope this helps

Andrew.
