I don't think it works that way. These factors are totally dependent on joint design, not so much on material properties.

Good luck, you're gonna need it. You seem to come up with some "interesting" questions.

What is meaning m & y values depends on Joint Design and not on material properties.?

Dear Mr.Bhide,

you may use m and y factor of the vegetable fibre ( refer PVELite) and be safe.

(m value is 1.75 and y value is 7.85)

But what is reference available for using vegetable fibre gaskets as EPDM food grade gasket?

What is normal practice of designing flanges with EPDM gaskets?
