In what context? We need to know what industry/process.
One product used in commercial laundries is called commonly called 'Sour'.
We are good, but we are not psychic...

Many years ago as a junior engineer the departmental secretary was very reluctant to do any typing for me, her service was certainly sour.

Sour or non-sour has to do with H2S(hydrogen sulphide). If it is present the environment is referred to as soured ...This has to do with corrosion...at least in the traditional sense...
