can anyone explain me about how electric train works and if it takes power at the top where it is grounded????

HO and N gauges are rail to rail and is DC. O is rail to center. O used to be AC.

Electric trains work by utilizing electric power. Your question is so vague, you really should either explain your misunderstanding or use a search engine to try to answer your question.
