Who Is the Best Guard of CR4

01/02/2012 4:10 PM

Dear All,

You might have observed many questions in CR4 are of the following type.

1. Homework

2. Easy to Google

3. Do not contain enough information

4. Posted before using CR4 search engine/ frequently asked.

The numbers of those type questions were significantly reduced by disabling guests from asking questions.

Some GURUs are also contributing remarkably to reduce such questions by attacking/criticizing the posters and avoiding to give actual answers. Sometimes it resulted in hurting of the posters. However it sourced for more meaningful questions.

It would be interesting to know, "Who is the best guard of CR4?"

My favorites are Lyn and Tornado. But I am not a regular user of CR4 and don't know many GURUs.

From your view who is the best?

(A request to my GURUs Lyn and Tornado."If you find this post useless, kindly ignore and don't attack")

Yes definitely. Admin is the best. It is known to all.

Let us don't consider Admin.

Cerberus here, at your service.

Sometimes I do try the ignore strategy, but it works only when everybody ignores an unsuitable question or post.

Even newbies can read the FAQs/rules, look at the non all-caps formatting of most posts, and read a few replies that call attention to violations/deficiencies--all before posting themselves. Those who fail to do this don't deserve any slack.

I have considered your advice, and hereby reject it. Thanks anyway.

"Some GURUs are also contributing remarkably to reduce such questions by attacking/criticizing the posters and avoiding to give actual answers." This is just like real life. Do you not suppose a boss or customer might do likewise? Individuals who learn that they will not be coddled forever have a better chance at doing well in their chosen craft. Likewise it may reveal an incorrectly chosen life path; this is not for those with a thin skin or fast uncontrollable temper.

"Sometimes it resulted in hurting of the posters." Just like real life. Who will spare their feelings in the future?

"However it sourced for more meaningful questions." Ah, the smell of success.

I would like to say - seeing as this seems a continuance of gratuitous self promotion 2011/2012, in every brown nose way imaginable - I am the best

First off Admin on CR4 actually does something and is quick to edit or remove posts which are not suitable, not something you can say for other websites so hats off to him/her/it.

Secondly I cannot totally agree with your post:

Lyn comes on hard but listens to reason which I can respect, he reacts quickly but then backs off when presented with good responses.

On Tornado I totally disagree - he doesn't deserve the title of guru or guard:

A Guard title should be given to someone who supports the ethos of this fine website in line with the code of conduct Tornado does not always seem to do it which I cannot respect and for which there is no excuse.

Guru? Well it's relatively easy to post 10,000 one liners many of them almost unintelligible so I would question that label as well.

So I agree about Lyn but cannot disagree more on Tornado.

Please explain.

You have only posted anonymously on this thread, and I suspect that you are exercising some vendetta, no doubt because I have hammered some post or other of yours. Come out from beneath your rock, you disgusting coward, and tell us just what your imaginary problem is.

Tornado,

Personally I feel second comment about 10k one-liners is OTT and not merited but the first comment you should consider as constructive criticism.

If posters take your sometimes overly negative and overly aggressive posts as a role model then CR4 will slip into the Wikipedia zone where a small group of overly opinionated yet highly active "editors" monopolise discussions and stamp out novelty.

That would be the death knell for CR4 and we should try to avoid it.

Your continued anonymous whining is without merit, and I will continue to disregard your worthless advice.

If you think something is wrong with a post of mine, state which post and why you think so. If you can't understand my "one-liners", then get an education or ask for clarification.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for response. But i never asked to comment/criticize my opinion. I have just requested to tell who is the best guard in your view.

Kindly go through the posts of my GURU once again.

Was anything achieved by this question or the posts? Curiosity questions should be given due consideration before posting. The best guard should be the mind of the poster before it ever reaches the public eye.

I agree with your statement but when references are made to Tornado being a good "Guru"? Well myself and I at least one other had to step in to set the record straight. These topics are best avoided I agree.

CR4 in the present form - it is extremely GOOD and GROWING LEAPS and BOUNDS. But some times - much fundamental subjects are raised, Standards of CR4 will be diluted, and and this NEEDS FILTERING.

Of course, the TALENT, INTELLIGENCE and CONTRIBUTION of any individual is to be ACKNOWLEDGED and for that selection, eligibility criteria is to be formulated.

I 'tink it R admin. Dey R de pest guard everrrrrrr.... No seriously, I think that the quality of our Guru speak and all genuine CR4 members inputs, quickly and mostly, kindly sends the lazy site abusers on their way to go and do their homework elsewhere. I strongly believe that at CR4 one will either fit in or be forced to move on to mellower grounds where the bacon ain't that hard to cut.

I agree with your observations as in point 1 to 4.

But I believe that disabling guest altogether (yes this is what it is) the questions have not been reduced but only have gotten some face or name (unless the first time poster posts anon)!

I do not think that attacks or critics has reduced any of the above mentined questions.

They keep coming.

As to answer the question "Who is the best guard of CR4?":

The ones that answer the questions regardless of how bad they are and the ones that give the best advice they can muster (and only if it is your question is to basic, more info needed and so on) they are the defenders of the cause of CR4.

Read this #23 and you find a personal review of GURU Lyn that I agree upon.

But one thing for sure. We are not here to defend CR4 but to support a cause. Some behaviour is very much like guard keeping, but thats what you do when you start making a cause your own.

I had some more to say but I think this answers the question and I shall stop here.
