And it is the uneven rise of the solid ground that causes the tiny 'ocean tides' in the lake.

I wonder if someone could perhaps calculate the natural 'bathtub period' of the lake along its length. If close to 6 or 12 hours, it could enhance the tiny tides.

I was being sarcastic! I had picked up the implication that, in these calculations, the ground is anything but solid.

They're not so funny when you have to explain them...

The idea of a bathtub period is cool - or would be if it didn't lend credence to certain red-cloaked squirrels....
