Difference Between L, M, and H Type Vented NiCd Cells

01/05/2012 8:41 AM

Hi everyone,

Well here's what I wanted to know: difference between L, M, and H type of vented NiCd cells.

Although I know the basic difference, I would like to know in more detail in terms of construction, function, application and charging methods. If anyone knows or can provide any link, I'd be more than happy.

Thanx

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickel%E2%80%93cadmium_battery_vented_cell_type

L= Low, M= Medium, H= High

Refers to the rate at which the cell will charge/discharge. The construction differences are similar to those for the different duties for lead-acid batteries; i.e., standby, motor starting, deep discharge, and have to do with the sizing and spacing of the grids/plates/collectors as well as the venting of the cell.
