MGE Galaxy 5000

01/05/2012 11:08 AM

Hi,

I have a MGE Galaxy 5000 80 KVA UPS system.

The inverter fuse has blown and I am trying to locate the fuse to change it.

Does anyone know the location of this fuse?

Thanks

Alan

The original equipment manufacturer knows so much about this fuse that all the details can be found in the operation and maintenance manual that came with the equipment. If unavailable, a replacement may be obtained by using the telephone number that is listed on the original equipment manufacturer's website.

See page 62 for physical location of output fuse. Functional location shown on page 16 in the single line diagram.

There are lots' of other goodies in the manual. Recommended reading.

APC have the spare fuses and location, they will not inform us on the location as they want to charge £1200 for an engineer to walk through the door and will not supply the fuse alone as they say it is a fit only part and they do not sell them.

We fit different manufaturer UPS Systems so we are capable of changing the fuse if we can locate it?

I have already tried to google the location and have spent hours going through pages and have still not found the location.

What is a "fit only part"?

Didn't the URL provided in #6 help you identify the fuse location?

Well, normally these UPS have Internal Circuit Breakers.. Do check the Breakers also!
