Sulphuric Acid Production

02/02/2012 2:55 AM

Hi Guys

I need help. Can someone help with the following?

What MoC is suitable or recommended for 98% sulphuric acid at 90 deg celcius and what life expectancy can we expect for a flowrate of 200m3 per hour ?

Thanks

Check out the Cole-Parmer materials compatibility database on the web (other materials compatibility databases are available).

As a first guess and without having looked at it, look at PVDF.

Noob.....

As is typical, you give us too little information.

Storage of non-moving 98% H2SO4 at room temperatures can be done in carbon steel.

When this acid is brought to 90degrees C and is moving at some velocity, more costly materials are necessary.

200 m3 per hour is conained in what????/.... a six inch pipe ? a square duct ???

Do some GOOGLE research and come back with a more complete question ?

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

MJC - Did my research and found the answers in a 2009 Stainless Steel publication.

Once again, thanks
