Annam, Tornado may have given you a succinct answer, but it was accurate. His advice and opinions are generally accurate, and since he has not hidden behind a cloak of "Anonymous Poster 1", you can check his previous posts for yourself.

I regularly design a tiny portion of the instrumentation system for power plants. It is very involved, takes years of training, and is not by any means boiler plate.

When Tornado states that books would be required to learn this, he is watering it down a bit. He politely left out years of training, apprenticeship, etc.

The answer may be discovered by enrolling in an instrumentation training course at a local higher education establishment.
