Fouling of condenser tubes causes flow resistance and reduced heat transfer efficiency.

The Amertap system has been around for at least 25 years, and is widely used in power plants. Using foam balls with a slightly abrasive surface that are a little larger than tube inside diameter circulated through with condensate cooling they reduce fouling.

PMoon,

THanks for the useful data book.meaning that, the foam balls able to reduce fouling and cause the heat transfer high. Finally energy consumption also can be reduce.

Do you know , how many percent of energy saving we can obtained when using the sponges/foam ball?.I plan to install this system in the existing water cooled chiller with capacity 280 ton.Thanks.
