03/12/2012 2:21 PM

We have done the Flux Core Arc Welding in stainless steel Gr.321 with E347T0-1 wire, center line crack has occurred on the surface of the welding. What is the root cause of this crack, how can we avoid this?

It because of too fast of cooling rate made too high residue strain energy.

Preheat the work-piece at 250-300 degree C may help together with heat the welding line immediately after welded to reduce strain energy can protect from crack.
