Start by making a telephone call to wherever you purchased it from, and ask their advice.

Nintendo would tell you to buy a NTSC version of the game for your NTSC version of the Wii, or buy a PAL version of the Wii.

If you don't want to buy a new anything, and you don't care about updates from Nintendo or any warranties - then modding your Wii will make it region free, or at least give you the option to do so.

The problem is not so much software as compatibility between NTSC and PAL formats, the two are not directly compatible. The only solution I know of is a NTSC to PAL converter, which was available although I don't know if they still are. However, I think purchasing a PAL version of the game is probably cheaper than a converter.

The problem of format compatibility has been around for a long time, stretching back to the video tape era and also DVD. Until a universal video format is agreed upon, this format issue will still be with us.

If you buy a "good" PAL television, it can also show NTSC programs and games. I have had a Sony that could do that, also a Phillips too....I am sure there are more around, but its simply better to buy the right program CD and probably cheaper......
