Sorry but asphalt stinks. It stinks when you produce it, it stinks when you transport it, and it stinks when you lay it. Plus it gets all over everything.

I hate, but I have had to deal with it on many occasions. Black $^it!

Is it contained? Or is it open in the warehouse or the vat? Can you direct the fumes in any way or are they just open to the air? What do you want to protect...the workers, the neighbours or the planet?

You came to the right place. The folks here can help if you provide a really clear question.

Thanks for your comment .

Actually it is contained . During the process , the fume gas need to be discharge out .

Before that, I did install a system call : "Water Scrubber System". It can trap the oil

mist or reduce the emission but not 100% .

Are there any better system to eliminate the oil mist from emission to the open air ?

The emission is through the 100ft H with chimney .

Appreciated your comment .

A water wash is not good enough? Oh my. Well, from the water wash, you could feed it to a flue scrubber. This link may be useful to start. Have you checked the usefulness of a catalytic converter. A cursory search for flue scrubbers on CR4 (over there on the right hand side bar) didn't turn up much of relevance...but a search is only as good as the key words you use. I hesitate to suggest a flare since the possibility of disaster is great....but flares have been used in the past, usually with great emphasis on safety.

Well you cannot prevent the Bitumen from emitting fumes (and hence creating a smell) but you can protect the workers by using air extracting fan systems (or similar) to remove the fumes and vent them somewhere else (such as outside).

Alternatively you could get the workers filtered breathing masks.
