03/31/2012 2:06 PM

Hi

Can anybody share about the general life of Russian make contactors (AC ,DC , Accerelation, Brake contactors). How many break & make or no. of operations is expected? The application is for the hoist / winch operation with slipring induction motors of 160 KW maybe equivalent to AC-4.

Thanks and Regards

It is by far much more important how the contactors are manufactured and for what the contactors are designed to switch than where they are made. Every country has manufacturers that exceed their design specifications. Similarly, every country has manufacturers that make inferior products. Cheap is cheap. Unlike a few countries that are just starting to make high technology products, Russians know how to actually meet a specification.

Thanks for the quick response..i think i did not provide sufficient inputs for you to give specific reply in this aspect. The Russian make contators have been functioning since 1989 and it is almost 23 years old. The model numbers are KTP-6024 , KTP-6053 , KTP-6052 ,6013 etc. The contactors are installed for Slip ring induction motors of 160 KW capacity. It is a group drive with 4 nos of 160 KW , for lifting 30 Tons of coke bucket in CDCP dry quenching chamber area.Lot of inching operation is involved apart from high torque operation.

It depends on the manufacturer and the contactor series (of which there are many).

Have you consulted the datasheets?

"Life of Russian Contactors"

Cold, depressed, vodka-induced delerium, but at their hearts, courage to forge on and the passion of all of the great Russian poets, yearning for the ability to express themselves to anyone who will listen.
