distilled water has been distilled, so no minerals are present.

Mineral water is un treated and would contain minerals.

demineralized water has been treated to remove minerals.

Don't go cheap on us, Lyn. That implies demineralized = distilled. There is a distinction in process.

It's the weekend, so thrashing this one out is in due order. With a bit of luck, we can get around to magnets on water pipes etc.

It's up to the OP to figure out the proper answer for the test question.

Are the pipes cast iron?

I microwave all my water to purify it. Tastes great, and, it's less filling.

Finally, it's difficult to muster much enthusiasm for such mundane questions.

You may be right - I'll try some distilate later today and check back. OP needs the proper question for the right answer, so I'll give you a cast iron guarantee later. KrisDel™ are rather better equipped for apt fluid than LynDoor.

Minion has just been tasked to do some typing. Let it never be said that when it comes to pipe, the one and only originals made you run scared. Within the hour.....Don't go away now.....

.....You won't even make it in time to use the loo;

A KrisDel™ Pipe Specification.

All pipe is to be made of a long hole, surrounded by metal or plastic
centred on the hole.

All pipe is to be hollow throughout the entire lenghth-do not use
holes of different length than the pipe.

The I.D. (inside diameter) of all pipe must not exceed the O.D.
(outside diameter) otherwise, the hole will be on the outside.

All pipe is to be supplied with nothing in the hole so that water,
steam and other stuff can be put inside at a later date.

All pipe should be supplied without rust - this can be more easily
applied on the job site. (Some vendors are now able to supply
pre-rusted. If available in your area, this product is recommended, as
it will save a lot of time on the job site.)

All pipe over 50 feet (15.2m) in length should have the words
'Long Pipe' clearly painted on each end, so the LynDoor Engineers will
know it is a long pipe.

Pipe over 100 feet (30.48m) in length must have the words 'Long Pipe'
painted in the middle, so that Doorman will not have to walk the
entire length of the pipe to determine whether or not it is a long pipe.

All pipe over 6 inches (152mm) in diameter must have the words 'Large Pipe'
painted on it so the Chief Engineer will not mistake it for a small
pipe.

Flanges must be used on all pipe. Flanges must have holes for bolts
quite separate from the big hole in the middle.

When ordering 90,45 or 30-degree elbows, be sure to specify right hand
or left hand, otherwise you will end up going the wrong way.

Be sure to specify your vendor whether you want level, uphill or downhill
pipe. If you use downhill pipe for going uphill, the water will flow
the wrong way.

All the couplings should have either right hand or left hand thread, but
do not mix the threads, otherwise as the coupling is being screwed on
one pipe it is unscrewed from the other.

*all snagged, but it still cracks me up*
