".....the process of plastic button manufacturing?"

Injection molding is what first comes to mind for plastic buttons or any small item needed in quantity production.

For a hard durable button a thermo-setting plastic is required.

There is or was an unbreakable ceramic button being sewed on as replacement(s) for broken or missing buttons by dry-cleaners at $1 ea. not too long ago.

Sounds like you are looking for a supplier~

I have used plastic buttons for headrest applications
(2006 Explorer 2nd & 3rd row headrest straps)

a fastener company called:

YKK Universal Fasteners Inc. in, Lawrenceburg,

You'll also see one of their button products attached to seat belt webbing.
Also other metal products on jeans
(buttons, zippers and rivets)

Hope this helps,

Lisa Bilbrey

Mass produced plastic buttons are punched from a roll of uncured plastic. Then treated or allowed to cure depending on the type of plastic.

The process will depend on the type and quantity.

Here is a process used to make a small number of soft plastic push buttons for electronic equipment.

The shape id machined on a rod. a spark eroder is then used to make a negative mould. usually more than one. the plastic (epoxy) is then mixed and poured into the moulds. and allowed to set.
