Can any one please help me on my veneered panels which are hot pressed on to WBP ply and then painted high gloss using pu paint. After completing all the painting i see the veneer getting released from the ply and destroying the finish and then we have to redo the entire finish. We press the veneer in a hot press using veneer powder (formaldehyde)glue.

Regards

Are the edges of the flitches lifting, or are there bubbles/lifts scattered about?

This assumes wood veneer; is this in fact true? What species, thickness, % moisture?

Is this a chronic trouble? Was it satisfactory and a problem has developed?

Too many variables to make a diagnosis.... but if I was to guess I would say the polyurethane paint is releasing the glue.....This could be caused by the glue not being completely cured...You might try increasing temp or time of curing process...or changing glue formula....moisture content of the veneer could be a factor...

If the polyurethane is water-based it is releasing the glue. Try an oil-based polyurethane or use an oil-based primer first.
