Power Factor

what happens to a generator if the power factor of load suddenly increases or decreases??

If the current flowing to the load is less than the generator's overload trip setting, then all that will happen is that the consumption of energy from the prime mover will change as well.

If by changing the power factor the current rises above the trip setting, the trip will operate and disconnect the generator from the load.
