Ref :-Indian Standard for code of earthing
IS 3043I 1987 .This code is made taking in to account most of the international standards

An 8 way TPN DB will be having 8 outgoings including a sub-incomer(DP ELCB/RCCB) per phase...

In some cases it wil be having 6 outgoings including sub-incomers(DP ELCB/RCCB) per phase but still it is called a 8 way TPN DB...

why is it so..???

There is a good article on earthing systems in Wikipedia.

Refer also to Indian Standard 3043.
