Gravity Damper Capacity Calculation

09/16/2012 4:11 AM

Hi. I'm new member. I'm calculating for clinker transporting system but I don't know how to calculate capacity of a gravity damper. Our clinker density is 1.7 t/m3. Can any one help me?

What are the dimensions of the gravity damper? What is the flow rate?

Dimension of valve is 700mmLx500mmWx760mmH and outlet port of valve is 700x300 mm. It using to discharge clinker from silo.

You did not say any thing about the flow rate.

My matter is I don't know how to calculate flow of this system. If I know flow of this, I can calculate capacity. That structure is clinker flow discharge from a silo (a tank). So, how to calculate it flow?

It comes from doing a mass balance calculation on the reaction happening in whatever is upstream of it.

I suppose, the silo discharges on to a conveyor belt. Do you have a belt weigher on the conveyor belt? If the silo discharges on to the dumper, then you can time & weigh the quantity on the dumper. This way, I suppose you can tabulate the flow rate. Take a number of measurements, then get an average figure.
