Air Cooled Steam Condensor

During Turbine trip (HP-LP bypass in operation)- Whether Air cooled stream condensor is going to accept 100% steam.

Dear Mr. Nagarjacanchi,

Your Question is NOT clear. When the Turbine trips, the STOP VALVE at the Turbine will instantly be closed/shut down and NO steam will be admitted.

What I infer from your statement is - when the HP and LP BY-PASS, is INSTANTANEOUSLY SHUT/TRIP, whether that quantity of Steam will be handled/condensed in the air cooled condenser.

Here there are 2 choices for deciding the condenser capacity/sizing,. at the planning/ordering stage and decide the CONDENSER CAPACITY.

1st choice is that the Condenser to be sized for 100% Capacity of the Steam Flow.

2nd Choice is that the HP and LP Steam Extraction Quantity is deducted from the Total Steam Flow and decide the size of the Condenser. In this case the power out put of the Turbine will be limited.
