Cables Armed & Shield

dear all

What is the difference between the cables have a shield with armed and cables have only armed.& whats useful of shield & where its used

Two different things with two different purposes. A shield is used to provide a zero reference ground plane for electrostatic and/or electromagnetic purposes. Armored cables have a protective covering to provide mechanical strength/protection to the interior cable, which may or may not be shielded.

To summarize, shielded cables may or may not be armored, and armored cable may or may not have shielded cable inside.

but the armored connected to earth across the gland of cable Does it provide a zero reference ground plane for electrostatic and/or electromagnetic purposes

Good question. The armor's primary purpose is mechanical protection, check this out:

dear sir

cable size 16x2.5mm2 its used for secondary current for current transformer in 400kv switchyard the cable have armored & shield

please can we use cable have only armored with out shield
