kush....

There is no single standard for tightening torque on bolts because there are so many bolting/gasketing materials available and there are so mony operating conditions for equipment.

Entire books have been written on this subject. The ones by Bickford are the most helpful. Many stolen copies are available on the internet

There has been some uniform guidelines that industry has developed based on the application. For example; 7/8 inch high strength ASTM A490 bolts are all torqued to the same value in structural steel buildings.

Wedge type anchor bolts (HILTI BOLTS for example)of a particular size are torqued to the same value when inserted in concrete.

Pipe flanges and vessel flanges that can use a variety of bolting materials and exotic gasket materials are another, more complex story.

Most large US design companies develop thier own standards.
