Yep. Telephone the program's supplier and ask for technical support.

It is an old program, was running with windows SP after registering the .OCX file

Clipclassic free version, some UK firm which asked my son who was purchasing purchased version for me; in win95 era; why not use free version if your father is not a professional user.

What an era of free programs and people not selling to private users their professional programs !!!!

Now how can I contact them on a windows7/8/9/Rt .......................... era

if the CR4 subscribers tell them a simple solution of ................?

Thanks for your suggestion.

Is the .OCX file on your Win 7 PC? If not, can you copy it from and old machine?

Not on PC but when I copy the folder of program and run .exe file it asks to register the .ocx file in the directory.

A random shot in the dark - for a lot of older programs, there are users that create patches that allow them to be run on windows 7. Pending the program, there is more than likely a community out there that created some sort of downloadable file that can help your situation.

If you have a couple of days to kill, and like frustration, you might try asking Microsoft.

"My problem is using a standalone program not compatible to Windows 7."

Since you know that the programme is not compatible to Windows 7, don't waste time. Instead look for some compatible programme.

Have you tried it in XP compatibility mode?

Revolt, boycott Microsoft, go back to Xp or better yet, switch to Linix.

I don't remember having to make the choice during set-up. I though that was the default has for 64 bits. .I haven't had any problems other than VB6 which I finally got to run. I have a 64 bit computer so I am assuming I am running 64. I also read somewhere that WIN 7 should be able to run most x86 programs. I need to be able to register *.ocx to run some of the programs I have written on VB6 .
