Dead Laptop: Symptoms of a Bad BIOS

Dear All,

I have a dead HP DV6 laptop. its 3/5V always voltage is ok.

but the voltage at bios pin 1 (CS) is less than half a volt.

Is that a sign of fautly EC or BIOS?

please guide

I guess we dont throw away laptop just because a chip needs replacement....... that would be like declaring a person dead if he has a tooth ache.

an engineer needs to think logically ...... what is wrong and why it is wrong and then give the most economical solution.

HP likely has aService Manual for it's stuff but i don't think they'd send a copy for you by request - search yellow pages for local repair shop ... that will give some warranty to their work (if they don't want to give a warranty - there's a reason for that)

You'll need the skills of a computer designer and watchmaker. Good luck. Never have succeeded in repairing any kind of logic board, just keyboards, screens, HDs
