Video Transmitter Burn in Cycle

11/04/2012 7:51 AM

I have noticed that as I have used my video transmitter more and more, I have noticed the quality improving gradually. Before, the signal would be weak with the transmitter at one end of the house and the receiver at the other. I repeated the test today with them both in the same location and the signal was perfect.

So the question is, do some types of transmitter need to be used for a while before they reach their maximum power? Like a breaking in cycle?

Certainly not. Look for the reason of improved performance else where.

What 'obstacles' are near or between sender and receiver which could account for the poor performance in the original test? HVAC, washing machine (any motor/compressor), TV, internet wifi.... even atmospheric conditions can affect the signal quality. Also, other new wiring may act as an antenna and aid the signal.

One trick to improve mobile phone signals in remote areas was to position the phone in the gap of an open car window, with the door open - the frame seemed to boost the signals!
