Riser Clamp Design

11/05/2012 5:44 PM

Can any help me design a riser clamp for a load of 2 tons..the pipe is 3 inch in diameter..the clamp is 2 b 25 inch in length..is it possible to treat the clap as a straight beam simply supported at both ends..so i can get the best approximation of bending stress?

what is the method 2 go about designing?

What is the particular area of your competence?

Your questions don't seem to give much of a hint.

Perhaps you should commission an engineer to design it and sign all the certifications you surely will need.

Seems to me you might also want to take some mechanical engineering courses, as well.

Good heavens are you having a stroke?

Perhaps if you calmed down and explained your question a bit clearer you would get a better response, especially if you are in fact just learning and asking general interest questions and not doing incredibly dangerous design work (like your other posts) that you likely shouldn't be doing that could get someone killed.

Little more effort in descibing your issues would be a lot more helpful.

Are you talking about technical, or psychological, issues?

In fact I was ready to give you some indications how to proceed.

Your VERY rude reaction shows that you do not deserve any help since you do not know how to live in a group.

I also doubt that your level of knowledge will be the right one to solve such problems. Last but not least this is not an SMS message site you should as all other make the effort to write in plain english. Many participants have learned english as second or third language and never the less make the effort.

i am sorry for those rude responses. it will not happen again. i am sorry to all. but i do need some help in designing a clamp to clamp and support a vertical pipe of nominal size 3 inch dia.i think the riser clamp would be suitable enough for this task.
