Fuji VFD Control Questions

11/06/2012 7:03 AM

Good Morning to all ,

I am interested if anyone here has ever used a Fuji FRN002G1S-4U VFD ? . I am trying to use it to convert an older traverse unit with a belt drive and a variable Clevland gear reducer to a newer AC motor( Marathon BlackMAx INV Duty) with a Fuji VFD. It is a 2 HP motor with 8:1 straight gear reducer. I have gotten as far as being able to get the motor to use my -10 - +10 vdc as a reference for frequency and also direction changes are okay too (Using FWD and REV repectively) also have " X1 " programmed as jog. My issue is I need it to move Left and Right ( FWD , REV ) wich I have acomplished with a limit switch and a 24vdc relay for directional changes but I also need to be able to add 2 buttons for a rapid traverse that can be used while the motor is in run mode . I am thinking of tieing it in off a signal for enable off a Yakaswa F7 which is the drive for the main take up motor just so the traverse can only go into run mode if the takeup drive is enabled but must be able to rapid traverse at any time ? will try to load cad drawing soon . Thank You All .

Firstly, use a 0-10V for zero to full speed as the fwd/rev controls cover direction. I use a bypass switch for the speed pot to pull the motor to full speed temporarily. This could be relay-activated by something else in your control system if required.
