11/29/2012 4:02 PM

Friends,

Anyone have experiencie measuring sour gas flow to claus burner in a Sulfur Recovery unit not using ultrasonic meter?

I mean using vortex, annubar, venturi or orifice plate in order to measure the flow without problem or minimun issues

Best regards

Juan

The simple answer is yes, but and there are many buts to overcome.

In a Claus unit the volume or quantity of H2S is extremely high, so high that it can be deadly, therefore the idea is to use instruments where the possibility of leaks are zero, since even small leaks will cause corrosion and health issues, so based on this main issue instruments which do not require contact with the product are ideal.
