There is a requirement of overcurrent and short circuit protection of generator, there is 3nos. ct's are in the gen. neutral side (before star point), any body can tell that these ct's will protect the winding only or the cable also. there is 3nos. ct's in line side of generator winding for metering, thx.

They will protect if they are designed for protection. (not just for monitoring). Also cable rating shall be checked to ensure its protection.

RELAY WILL ACT DEPENDS ON THE SECONDARY CURRENT ONLY, BUT MY QUESTION IS, IF THE LOCATION OF THE CT IS IN GENERATOR NEUTRAL SIDE OF WINDING, THIS PROTECTION MEANS ONLY FOR THE WINDING OF THE GENERATOR OR IT WILL PROTECT ALSO THE CABLE?
