Grading Ring for Insulators

Only lighting arrestors have grading rings, but remaining insulators,CT's and PT's don't have Grading rings.Why????

Why not? I have used grading rings on all insulator supports of Isolators, CTs, Pts, CVTs, LAs as also on string insulators & suspension insuators, etc.

It isn't as far as I am aware of. What is the application and voltage levels you are talking about, and what country and standard (US, European, Indian, etc) are you referring to?

Can you provide more information please.

Are these examples you have seen on sites or something included in the Indian standards (which I am not to clued up on)?

Someone else here may be able to offer a simple explanation.
