MCB Rating for 13A Plug Point for Home

	what is the suitable mcb rating for 13A plug point. I planned to make one 16A mcb for twin 13A socket. But it consume more cables. Or can i use 20A mcb for two twin 13A socket? since not all 4 point in a circuit use at one time!

	It doesn''t depend on the number of sockets. MCB selection is a function of cable size, as that is what the MCB is designed to protect. Follow British Standard 7671, latest edition. Generally, either a 16A or a 20A MCB feeding a radial 2.5mm² twin-and-earth cable is an acceptable solution for feeding any number of sockets on the radial. Going to 32A MCB would require either a ring-main of 2.5mm² feeding any number of sockets or a radial in 4mm² cable feeding any number of sockets. If in doubt, consult a qualified local electrician, particularly if the proposed installation falls under Part P of the Building Regulations as regards notification, testing and certification when complete, otherwise insurmountable obstacles may be encountered later while attempting to change the freehold of the building.
