HP Prliant ML350 g4p Server

01/12/2013 12:54 AM

Dear All,

We just purchased second hand g4p server. We put the RAM PC2-3200R-333-12-J0 of samsung make for dell in it but server is not providing any graphics. Checked the graphics card it was ok. Then replaced these rams with Nanya RAMs of the same specifications it worked and server run normal. Kindly tell me any reason why samsung make RAMs did not work in ML350 g4p server.

Best Regards,

RAM has a number of operational characteristics- that is- "things"- features, parameters, that govern the way it behaves. Speed is one such feature and frequency is another. There are others besides these two. These parameters govern how the RAM chips respond in going about the process of doing their job. Different Ram from different vendors (manufacturers) behaves very very differently- or can do so.

It is likely there was a serious mismatch between one such parameter and the requirements of the circuit that provides/processes/interprets the digital information pertaining to the graphics processing of your computer.
