Nozzle Without Flange

Dear Forum Members,

Any restricted in ASME if nozzle in pressure vessel is design without flange?

No restriction; nozzles can be welded directly to the extending pipes without flanges.

The answer will be in the section by witch the vessel is bilt by.

Any pressur vessel must be built according to a specific code section,the section by witch we build the vessel is choosen by reading the scope of each section and if the vessel is include in the scope of that section, then that section maybe choosen.

A pressur vessel maybe built according to more then one section (e.g. section i and viii division 1).

At the last inspection the authorize inspector signe the data-report of the pressur vessel and by doing so he certify that to the best of his knowlege the vessel has been built according to that section
