I like some opinions here.
Is there such a thing as
Schedule 10 weld fittings, I not quite sure what the alloy is, I always addressed it
as Black Pipe. I know that have them in stainless.
Its probably a ASME
B16.9, Malleable iron per ASTM A197, and the question I have is can I get it in malleable iron Schedule 10 weld fittings.
My company is expanding
process, And on the cooling lines we are going from approx 2200 GPM to 9000 GPM
@ 75 PSI
It will
installed above the process area where we have a SpanCrete Ceiling, Using
18" Schedule 10 Pipe, And since weight is a critical factor on the Loading
on this SpanCrete, I did the system curve using Sch. 10 Pipe, with specialized fabricated
pipe hangers to spread the weight on the SpanCrete.
My question
is, has anyone ever heard of Sch 10 Weld Fittings, My suppliers never really
said they don't make it but are very reluctant to supply.
My other alternatives
is to use Sch. 10 pipe and Sch. 40 Weld Fittings, recalculate the system curve
and resize the pump.
Or use
Victaulic Fittings, with the large diameter of pipe the clamps are rated at 100
PSI, should not be a problem.
One other
thing, I am looking into composite piping and fittings also, I believe Aquatherm. What I like about it, is that not only does it have a warranty, it also has a 60 year life with a $10,000,000.00 liability insurance in case of failure.
Just looking
of some opinions here.
