What are the reasons of motoring in a synchronous generator.

Like loss of primover etc

If you are asking about a reason, and not a fault, for motoring a sychronous generator, google Synchronous_condenser

Dear Mr.AijazAhmed,

The reason for Sync.Gr. to run as the Motor is Power Generation by that Generator is isolated - reason may be Mech. side or Elec.side.

In order to remain in the Grid or Parallel Operation, it draws power from the grid or other Generator(s) working in parallel, and keeps in step with the system.
