4P as Against 2P Breakers

Hello Sir,

We have in a situation that the input supply to our equipment only needs 2P breakers but the available breakers is 4P is it okay to use 4P even if we will use only the 2 phases we will just balance it?

Yes. If it's an ELCB or whatever, the component datasheet should specify which contacts to use for L and N for 2 phase service. If it's just a switch, use whichever contacts are most convenient.

You may also need to loop the circuit through all the poles in order to get the correct thermal response. If so, this too should be covered in the CB instructions.

Yes, as long as the contacts can carry the current.
