Double Block and Bleed Valves

03/17/2013 11:39 PM

We need to install double block and bleed (dbb) valves before (receiving line 10" ) and after (delivery line 8") of a fuel oil storage tank. What type of dbb valve should I install: dbb plug valve, dbb ball valve or dbb gate valve?

That would depend upon the Client's applicable piping standards in the first instance, and economics in the second.

Ball valves in 10in lines tend to be the highest value option in terms of purchase price and butterfly/wafer valves the lowest.
