A1: if the transmitter has been ranged correctly, opening both the HP side and the LP side together will make it read zero.

A2: -

If HP=LP then difference =0.So depending what 0 is set up as , thats what you will read.More than likely 100% or 0%.

Best way to know open sensor is by detecting no current in 4-20mA look.

For vibrations sensing you need to use Ultrasonic probe with spectrum analyzer or pre tuned probe for known frequency band.

Such things are for experts so ask these questions to your installing expert to answer to you and keep and good manual handy at work.

If LP & HP open then level shows must be zero, it necessary for boiler protection other wise boiler tube damage & boiler may be explode,(Safety Norms).

For vibration sensor it also depend upon sensor type , if u using eddy current type then fix the gap between the turbine object (like rotor pinion or gear) the output voltage is 10.00 Volts
