Temperature Sensor Interface

03/25/2013 9:47 AM

I am using a temperature sensor TMP141 from Texas Instruments. I would like to know which controller would be good enough to interface it using I2C protocol. The controller should be operate-able in low-power mode. Could any one help me out.!

There are many controllers (far more than I know personally!) that can talk to this device, I2C is a fairly conventional way to interface, you had better decide as to where you want the data to end up.

There are I2C to USB units that allow easy connection to a PC or a laptop, if that is what you want.....not that I personally have used one though!!!

Look here, especially the links at the bottom of the article for further good reading:-

I2C

If I was doing it, I would probably use an Arduino or a PICAXE (very very cheap!) or similar, but that's just me!!! You can get software for free from the web for almost anything to talk to I2C.

You could also use a Basic Stamp from Parallax.com
