New Category for Education of Math & Technology

03/30/2013 7:28 PM

It has become apparent that some of those responding to Education and Engineering are neither Educators nor Engineers. Can we create a catagory for Educators or those who desire to be educated in Math and / or Technology?

It has become apparent that some of those responding to General have not properly earned this rank nor have they ever been an officer of any military rank. Without the proper rank or authority, orders will not be followed.

Now why don't you try to earn some respect in an engineering forum by demonstrating some cogent rational thought.

catagory category Are you an educator? A college professor perhaps? You seem to miss the focus here, which is on problem solving, specific problem solving....I'm afraid that unless you have something very interesting, or something that would be of use to that end, then it probably won't be well received here....or at least humorous...

Those of us who are engineers and educators have given you some suggestions, like taking your project to YouTube which would be a better forum and might be more appreciated.

Sorry, but the "thing" about an open-door policy is that it lets "in" anybody and everybody and does not question their 'qualifications' to post. That's the readers' task, to filter and weed-out the non-qualified...of course, that assumes that the reader is 'qualified' to discern the qualified from the non-qualified.

These are my Qualifications: BSEE University of Massachusetts, 1953. Signed on to Sprague Electric - Special Products Division. Was sent to plant opening on the West Coast. Was assigned Contract Administrator for a Magnetic Key during era of President Kennedy. Was Assigned to Sprague Sales Office in Los Angeles as Engineer to accompany Salesman. In 1962 was asked to open a new plant to make Resistor / Capacitor networks using Dielectric/ Ceramic substrate using screened Resistor Ink. Received and invitation to move to Tucson Arizona to a Joint Venture "Sprague Tucson".

After the venture closed in 1970, I joined BBRC as a Process Engineer, later doing plant layout for a Semiconductor facility. Taught Math and Technology for a Jr College, Was asked to move into Design Engineering where I was assigned to the Kid out of the University of Arizona who designed the 1st 16 bit Analog Converter that allowed the 1st CD player to be built. This led to finishing 45 years in Industry as Manager of "Manufacturing Transition". Retired in 2000 to tutor GED students, Technology in a Country Day School, and co-author a book "SAT Math Study Guide" with a graduate with a Masters in Math from Oxford College.

Now you tell me your credentials.

Larry as I have said before, you need to post in the Blog section where your particular posts belong (I am a little surprised the site moderators have not mentioned this).

Posting in the existing discussion sections or a new discussion section is just opening up your ideas to more critical discussion and debate (which is the purpose of these CR4 sections, its in the name of the site after all "The Engineer's Place for News and Discussion®").

Try posting in the Blog section please.
