Vibration Analysis

04/06/2013 5:14 AM

Hi, I would like to know if Vibration Analysis should be carried out on Apron Feeder and Sizer in 'No Load Condition' or during routine operation?? There is a perception at my site that it vibrates a lot when running normally so better conduct testing without load. Thanks

Why not test both modes? That's what I would do.

It does make sense that the no load condition will be louder than routine operation because more things can be a resonator. However, unless the operational load can be added consistently you may not be able to make valid comparisons to know where to look for wear.
