Sergio Focardi is a university professor - not a fraud.

There is nothing about being a university professor that keeps one from being a fraud. (Though admittedly this is not especially common.)

I watched the presentation. I do not see anything in the presentation that looks like scientific evidence. I realize that a TED talk is not a place to prove an experiment. A TED talk is a place to present ideas. Still the bold claims in this talk should present some data to support the claims. A megawatt of power produced inside a shipping container should at the very least show an instrument displaying a temperature rise. A claim of finding copper where only nickle once was present, should show some before and after analysis data. The claim of a nuclear reaction should show the presence, absence or brief duration of activation to be plausible. Only two of the known isotopes of copper are stable isotopes, how much of each were found?

Cold fusion research sucked a lot of research money out of the controlled fusion research community. None of cold fusion's claims have been independently verified. In contrast hot fusion research (Tokamak) has demonstrated controlled fusion. Tokamak machines have yet to produce more power than they consume. There is considerable debate if an economy of scale can make a Tokamak productive or if other approaches can make fusion a power source.

This is from a year and a half ago, 18 mos and still no proof of anything but scam.....They should all be arrested....The only reason they don't start a company and sell stock is that they know they would be jailed....instead they sell memberships for $50.00 a year to send you e-mails....This scam has just about run it's course

Well , they have 1 unit (1MW) running since almost one year ago , and another advanced (1MW) unit will go for service soon.

The evidence strongly suggests that is the case....If there is some entity that could defend his actions due to some mental and/or emotional sickness, then I would hear the case....
