CEP Piping Safety Valve

Is it possible to design Condensate extraction pump suction piping with out safety valve?

Yes, if all components are capable of withstanding the maximum upstream steam pressure without damage, in case the steam trap fails.

A HazOp Study would confirm that.

Dear mohnish powermech,

Generally condensate pump extraction - suction will be under Vaccuum. In my opinion, the question of safety valve does not arise.

Even for positive Pressure applications, as long as the pipe line thickness is correctly decided, the question of safety valve requirement does not arise.

Thank you very much sir for your reply... Even, I never ever saw any safety valve mounted on CEP suction piping. I saw this question posted by an user in Linkedin site. Thanks for guiding me anyways.
