Some of these mfrs probably have on-line catalogs: Bourns, Danfoss, Data Instruments, efector, Foxboro, Omega Engineering, and Rosemount.

I use United Electric's now out-of-date catalog because it's comprehensive and it includes a selection guide.

The selection guide portion of the full catalog has been extracted and posted here:

United Electric offers a downloadable short form catalog, but it lacks the selection guide:

https://www.ueonline.com/ue-catalog/

In summary, one selects a pressure switch based on:

1) environment - general purpose/hazardous area/weather-tight

2) process variable - vacuum, gauge pressure or differential pressure

3) sensor element suitable for pressure, temperature and exposure to medium
- many process switches are mounted on remote diaphragm seals to isolate the switch from the medium or the environment (heat)

4) electrical switch characteristics - load, number of switches, deadband. SetPoint indicator

5) options, like whether you pay the factory to set the setpoint.

Either catalog or selection guide has a matrix like this:

From the instrument manufacturers' websites?

They don't make such gauges.

Gauges that measure in kg are called scales or balances.

Gauges that measure temperature are called thermometers.
