Stainless Steel (Flexible) Wire Mesh

Google "chain link fencing" and "chicken wire".

I need flexibility.

It has to be stainless, .50mm to .1.25mm dia. and no larger than 25mm opening.

It's not that i do not want Chinese made, its that i do not want the hassle of ordering from overseas and all the paper work and uncertainty that goes with it.

Getting ready for a Government project to shock some fish. The net specs call for two panels of flexible SS mesh for the anode and cathode.

No! No! No!

That was the old days ( last year) when they were still experimenting with pulses and waves length stuff. they'd hit the juice and the water would erupt in fish for 1/2 an acre. Now they claim to have just the right amount of juice to gently stun them enough so as they do not fight to escape the net and in they go.

nets are done, just looking for the right SS mesh to make the + and - segments with.

I'll let you all know what happens.

Brand new project. never used this stuff before. Solar eagle found me a USA distributor . Hopefully they have what i need.

There was a company in the UK that handled a really nice SS mesh years ago. They actually made fish trawls with it. Super heavy duty andm spendy.

But I woulod still have to place large orders and go though the Customs thing and wire transfer, etc. etc.

I seem to remember that product being used for rock retention in areas of the NYS Thruway where large formations of rock were prone to breaking off and falling in the road. You might have some luck contacting the maintenance department of NYS, or other states. There is a magazine devoted to road maintenance. Perhaps a search of road magazines would yield some advertisers looking to do business.

Thank you Bob. I saw that same netting in Oregon also. In Japan they use heavy , non metalic netting for the same purpose.

That's called ferruled mesh.

A Google search of stainless ferruled mesh yields many images like you show. It appears there are many offshore manufacturers, I don't see any USA guys.

This used for fencing... have you contacted a local fence contractor, see if he can get what you are after? The quantities you mention are probably too small and irregular to attract a manufacturer.

I have spent the morning on the phone and have come up with "0". Everything over seas and needing big orders and long delivery times.

I happen to know someone in Alvin TX; I've sent him an e-mail, including the link to this thread, and a copy of the portion of Post #25 that I've quoted above. I explained the need you have, and asked if he knows of any company in or around there that either does, or can, provide the flexible stainless mesh. Let's see what happens . . . .

Well that was above and beyond the call of duty. Many thanks. i'm guessing Alvin is not such a large place that if there is a company making SS mesh type wire, it would be known. So far, I've only found a company in Nevada ( Tempec) that sells fine mesh used in heat protection. I am getting a sample but i do not if it can hold up. Its .2mm wire. We will see. it has to be flexible for sure but can it withstand constant bending abnd flexing???

I need the mesh already made up. I have cable but i do not have the time or the pnuematic clamper to set those bands across each piece.

Have you thought about contacting Lynn-Door industries? That bunch will do anything for money.

You could get some European quality wire mesh over here. Its definitely worth to take a look, all industrial quality.

In the initial post, Netman asks for a NORTH AMERICAN source, not once, but twice. Later, he emphasises the need for a FLEXIBLE mesh, not something like hardware cloth. I don't see either of those requirements being met at this site - do I need to scroll down, or go through a set of sub-menus to find something suiting Netman's needs?
