Reliability

How do i calculate the failure rate, reliability @ 1000 hours and mean time to failure of an electrical system consisting of three units connected in series with the failure rate for each unit @ constant as follows λ1= 0.000004/hr, λ2=0.0000032/hr, λ3=0.0000098/hr.

Your questions look like homework questions, we don't answer homework questions here you know.

Have you tried a simple internet search for your answer?

Take the reciprocal of the added reciprocals?

failure rate of the 3 connected as you mention = 1.7e-5/h

Survival probability = 1- failure rate for a chain Sp= Π (1-fr)

Fr chain= 1- Sp chain
