Differential Slope Setting

06/02/2013 9:51 PM

hello engineers, from the differential relay manual, they recommended the setting for 1st bias slope setting is 1x tap change range. my transformer got 5 tap and range is 2.5% per tap. so total range is 5% from center.so can i set 0.05 setting for 1st bias slope.

Then the total range is 10%.

Once the make and part number of the equipment is to hand, the next step is to look up the information needed in the manual. If the manual is not to hand or the information needed isn't in there, then

the manufacturer directly.

Differential Relay Slope setting does not depend only upon the transformer tap range. It depends upon other parameters also such as error difference between the pairing CTs, the saturation level, pilot wire lengths, etc.
